reprap needs to be added to the resource links list, but aside from that, the big deal:

20 micrometers, if I’m reading that right, is .0007 inches, less than a thousandth. There are only a small handful of things you need more precision for, in fact most things need far less.
Wrought iron is a reasonably useful level of strength–you won’t be building a Falcon 9 out of it, but it is also a good start.
